John Paul's Bio
I was born on April 9,1986 in Tongeren, Belgium. Some of you may not know that it is one of the oldest known European cities. Coming from a large musical family, I began performing probably at the age of two, literally before I could even talk. It was something that just came naturally for me.

That was back at the time, as some of you longtime fans may know, we were known throughout Europe as the ‘Sunshine Brothers’. Those were the ‘really early days’. With my dad providing the music on his guitar, we would go to schools, orphanages, and retirement homes singing with our four older brothers. It’s still kind of a blur but they had good food. We always moved around a lot.

It was during those years that I acquired a desire to make a positive impact through music. I guess I would say that a lot of that influence was passed on to me through my dad, who did humanitarian work for 26 years in Third World countries.

"Bon Voyager" as it is now known, came of age just before our departure from Europe.

The whole thing wasn’t something that was planned. It just kind of happened, evolved so to speak…

We had a lot of really cool times in our travels through the different countries of Europe….Portugal was one of the highlights for me.. and I really think it’s helped me see the world from a different perspective... I consider a privilege to have seen a big chunk of the world before I even hit the age of 14.

We came over to the States in ‘98. I gotta say things did change a lot since coming over here.

One of the better parts has been the chance to go off to distant parts of the US to perform at fairs and festivals throughout the country. The other thing is forming something in the creative stage then seeing it actually being produced in polished form. There’s a sense of satisfaction having done that….

I picked up both guitar and some keyboards and have been coming out with some of my own new material. We just finished up with the arrangement for one of them that I wrote about a month ago.

The States is definitely different than Europe and it’s been like getting back to our roots over here, which has been good overall. The mentality is way different from what we left behind over in Europe..

I’m into heavier music than my brothers even though a lot of the earlier influences are the same. One of the older groups I have been into are Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. They’ve got some good harmonies. Another band I’ve been listening to recently is Paloalto, who I think have some great songs. We’ve met a lot of cool people here who have helped out. Some of the ones that have even stuck the most close by we have met while on the I’m really looking forward to what the future holds ahead and thanks to a lot of you who have stood by us to make what was just an idea and a vision, now a reality.
